Standing on the Shore

Standing on the Shore is a moving and reflective musical work that begins with the arrival of 20 and odd negroes on the shores of Old Point Comfort (modern day Fort Monroe). Through drama, poetry, song and dance the musical will go back and recount 400 years of the African experience in North America.  This radiant production will captivate and showcase the resilience and strength of the human spirit. This awe inspiring journey with the descendants of those who stood on those fateful shores as they overcome and rise through slavery and oppression to stand as a proud people today will leave us forever changed. - Performed by Goode Dance Academy
